bonjour,

i am having an issue with incorrect display resolution.
previously i used a Samsung 17" monitor and the display resolution was 1280x1024, it worked properly.

for some reason, i need to replace the monitor with another one, LG Flatron W1943C.
but this time, the display resolution is incorrect. the setting in Setting > Display menu is 1360 x 768 @60Hz.
the result, a tiny part of display at the right side is truncated, such as "Les Kompie" text at the top right is truncated to just "Les Komp".

how do i set the resolution correctly, if there are no other correct resolution in the display resolution list in Setting > Display menu ?
i am guessing, the correct resolution might be 1280 x 720 or around that setting.

thank you again,
-les kompie

Hi les kompie,
If you look documentation here : http://www.lg.com/in/support/support-product/lg-W1943C-PF#
page 23, you see than correct resolution are proposed by arandr for LG Flatron W1943C
and the resolution 1280x720 don't exist for this monitor.
See the capture of resolution of this monitor on spec manual.

[solved]

hello sir,

thank you for the insights.
i just found out that pressing auto/set button on the monitor managed to fix this issue; the display is not truncated at the right side anymore.

thank you again for your assistance, sir, i really appreciate it.

regards,
